Two awards from South Arts and one from the New England Foundation for the Arts will help to underwrite Norton Center programming in 2013.

The Norton Center is pleased to announce three recent grant awards, which will support performances, student activities, and life-long learning programs during the upcoming season:

– The New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance project will support activities surrounding The King’s Singers + Sean Curran Company performance on November 16.   NEFA’s mission is to creatively support the movement of people, ideas, and resources in the arts within New England and beyond, make vital connections between artists and communities, and build the strength, knowledge, and leadership of the region’s creative sector.

– The performances of Aquila Theatre Company in Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac and William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew on February 14 & 15 are supported by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Kentucky Arts Council.

– The April 26 performance of Seraphic Fire is also supported by a grant from South Arts.  South Arts strengthens the South through advancing excellence in the arts, connecting the arts to key state and national policies and nurturing a vibrant quality of life.
